The WatchGuard XCS Extensible Content Security solution is the industry’s leading email security and anti-spam platform. The range includes appliances from the XCS170 suitable for small network deployments to the ISP grade XCS1170. Watchguard XCS uses multiple layers of filtering and anti-spam mechanisms such as Token Analysis, Reputation Authority, AntiVirus/Anti Spyware, Content Scanning Attachment Control, Threat Prevention, Malformed Mail. Email encryption is achieved using TLS with SSL certificates. Multiple appliances can be used in clusters for high availability and to increase message throughput. A queue replication technique ensures the message queue is replicated across all cluster members to ensure no loss of messages in the event of hardware failure.
